You are watching: Which heater hose is the inlet

Hi, make the efforts to install a flush kit and they speak to reduced the heater inlet hose. Both hoses run type firewall and both seem to get in the water pump yet they don"t want me cutting the water pump hose, simply the heater INLET hose. Can"t uncover a schematic because that that. Any aid please? Thanks!Steve

it really wont issue which heater hose you insanity into. The flush will still walk everywhere.but im reasoning the top hose on the fire wall surface is the one pumping right into the heater core, the reduced one is that return. 50/50 shot there lol

Hmm, just trying to do what the indict say come do. You"re most likely right, though. Water flows all the method through so what"s the difference? yet just in instance there"s a one method valve or miscellaneous crazy, ns do need to ascertain the heater inlet hose. They both look favor they run right into the water pump but I"m sure one just goes come the top water jacket. Not sure, never ever did this one before.. Any type of absolute, positively sure diagrams or noþeles on this? Thanks though.
Turbo is the means to go.

Ha! i just got the top one coming out of the firewall and also spliced it. Appears to occupational with the flush, more than likely as Scottiedogg said. However, I have actually worse difficulties than that through this pig. Only 118k of straightforward miles (with fabricated oil transforms every 6k) and main seal is leaking and the head gasket blew. Now the starter won"t crank probably because of water in the cylinder. Jeez, what next- locusts???

first way to figure out i beg your pardon is "in" and also "out" is you have the right to turn the heater on, then feel which water tap is hot/not as warm , the hotter one is "in", the cooler one is "out", an additional way: the bigger hose is "in", smaller sized hose is "out", hot water expands, as it cools going despite the H.E., it contracts.

there is no circulation valve come the heater core. It flows coolant year round. Therefore both hoses acquire hot all the time.this idea does job-related tho, start with a cold engine, fire that up, host both hoses, witch ever one gets hot an initial is the one that flows right into the core.or take it both hoses turn off the fire wall, and fire the vehicle up, you view the hose press coolant.
